about

Gold Plated is for everyone who wanted to see the best in something, whether that be themselves, a relationship, a profession, or so on. It’s for everyone who’s found themselves struggling between expectations and reality. It’s for everyone who’s learned that painting something gold doesn’t change the material underneath. Most importantly it’s for everyone who’s learning to be honest with themselves. Gold was never made for us, and that’s not such a bad thing.
We’d like to thank our friends, family, and our fans who’ve shown us nothing but love and support since the beginning when we sucked. Whether that’s through seeing us live, picking up a CD, or allowing us to make noise in your living spaces, you’re what allows us to keep doing what we love. We’d also like to thank everyone who’s come in and out of our lives during the process and helped shape what this album has become. We’d like to thank Mike Jannino for the endless hours spent recording, editing, mentoring, and being there for us in our best and worst moments. Connor would personally like to thank Meg for being so supportive of us and Fabs would personally like to thank the one and only JayLeigh223 for her constant love and support. “Jess, this is just the life we ordered. I love ya, punk.”

Track Name: Safeguard Sucks
I’ve said it before but it’s the truth this time
It's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright
Sold myself short half a million times
But I’m still here winning the small fights
Rebuilding piece by piece
In the mirror is finally me
Now I can get some sleep
Without all these spectres surrounding me

In for the night
And we’re feeling alright
Got a few good friends as we listen to The Upsides
I’m home This time
Found my place, found some piece of mind

“You’ll break again,” she whispered
I hear her, I hear her
She faded like fall to winter
She’s gone but the cold still lingers
And yeah it’s all my fault
But I’m standing on solid ground
No fissures to drag me down
I’ll keep moving forward from here on out

I keep falling down but today is a new day
I’m not going to hide and I’m not going to run away
Track Name: Gold Plated
Sit down, Shut up (It’s not the time or place)
Drop dead, no good, (Has been a waste of space)
Push us down and break our jaws
We’ll fight, we’ll bleed (we're doing what it takes)

Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah

keep your fists clenched
keep your head high
there’s greener grass up ahead on the other side
we’ll take what’s ours we’re not here to compromise
we’re getting older
we’re moving forward

keep your fist clenched
keep your head high
there’s greener grass up ahead on the other side
every breath reminds us that we’re alive
mistakes behind us
our past won’t define us

We are, we are gold plated
Nothing like the expectations
But we’re not rusted, we’re not faded
One more day we’ve almost made it

Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah
Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah

keep your fists clenched
keep your head high
there’s greener grass up ahead on the other side
we’ll take what’s ours we’re not here to compromise
we’re getting older
we’re moving forward

keep your fist clenched
keep your head high
there’s greener grass up ahead on the other side
every breath reminds us that we’re alive
mistakes behind us
our past won’t define us

We’ll take what’s ours
We're never turning back
Write this down
This is going to last

keep your fists clenched
keep your head high
there’s greener grass up ahead on the other side
we’ll take what’s ours we’re not here to compromise
we’re getting older
we’re moving forward

keep your fist clenched
keep your head high
there’s greener grass up ahead on the other side
every breath reminds us that we’re alive
mistakes behind us
our past won’t define us
Track Name: Sorry Eyes
Woke up in disbelief
The new year feels the same
There’s no optimistic feeling
And no signs that things will change
I’ve been lying to myself
(lying to myself)
That this gold would never fade
Well we’ve gone from gold to grey

So chalk me up as damaged goods
Accepted. It’s understood
That’s just the way life goes
Every scar’s a lesson learned
Moving forward’s something earned
I’ll have to earn this on my own

Repeat the stages of grief
Reliving all my lows
The cycle always seems to spin
Around and round in place it goes
A rapid speech a slur of words
Our sorry eyes begin to hurt
Our broken tongues and your denial
How could I love a heart with many miles?

Gold was never made for us
We’re dirt, We’re rocks, we’re ash and dust
How naive to think we might be different
Track Name: Poor Posture
Let’s set this up
Another game of pretend
Let’s pretend I’m alright
I didn’t break I just bent
Just for my sake
I want to hate you so bad
But you’ve done nothing wrong
And I might try but I can’t

I want you to know that you’re still on my mind
And I hope that you get where you want to in life
I never did give you a proper goodbye
So I’ll write this and hope that you hear it sometime

I know that it’s late
But I wrote you a song
It’s crazy how fast
This year’s come and it’s gone
Nobody wants things
To end up like this
So I’ll keep this one short
Before my words start to mix

Let's set this up another game of pretend
Let's pretend I'm alright I didn't break I just bent
Let's set this up another game of pretend
Let's pretend I'm alright you never fucked with my head
Track Name: A San Diego Story (feat. Storie Libby)
This is a promise I mean to keep
I'll wait here for you
If you come back for me
And If you sing the lead
I'll sing the harmonies
And If you'll be my air
Well I just might be able to breath

When you come back
My hearts where you left it
I locked it up close
So no one could grab it
The keys in your hands
I hope you keep it safe
So now I'll wait
Now I'll wait

This isn’t how it was supposed to be
I was going to leave
I wasn't meant to feel anything
But I sang along that night at the bar
A couple more dates and we spiraled too far
But I can't change my plans
I'm hoping that you understand

When you look back
Please don't regret it
I'll be here
Right where you left me
The same way you found me
Lonely and sad
But you made me happy
If just for a sec
Track Name: Hano St
You tried to find your place on the pacific coast
But that was my mistake we can't do this alone

I tried to run
Or do anything to get you off my mind
Where you are won't change
The fact I miss you more with passing time
And I need my friends
(Like I need these strings)
I need the feeling that these verses brings
(I need my heart)
But it's yours to keep
(I need my bed I haven't slept in weeks)

You tried to find your place on the pacific coast
But that was my mistake we can't do this alone
I miss your smile and how it melts the snow
New England's calling won't you come back home

You tried to find your place on the pacific coast
But that was my mistake we can't do this alone
I miss you now but knowing what I know
You should stay out west don't ever come back home
Track Name: Hawaiians (Remastered)
Do you remember all those nights we’d watch the stars
On the bench by the canals but seemed so far
While I promise you’re the worst I’ve ever met
Thanks for everything you taught me

I spent a couple nights alone on concrete floors
A few more scars I didn’t have the year before
I know I should have seen the signs and walked away
Here I’m better off today

You were poison from the start
Made deception into an art
Kicking the injured while we’re down
I’m glad I got to watch you drown

I remember when you used to make me scream
dug your nails into my back and made me bleed
I was never where you found a home at night
that was your mistake not mine

You were poison from the start
made deception into an art
kicking the injured while we’re down
i’m glad i got to watch you drown

You were poison from the start
made deception into an art
kicking the injured while they’re down
i’m glad i got to watch you drown
You were poison from the start
A dagger straight into the heart
kicking the injured while we’re down
i’m glad i got to watch you drown
Track Name: Jericho (feat. Mike Jannino) (Remastered)
I forgot how to pray
Quite don’t know what to say
My knees buckle and shake
They claim I’ve lost my way
And I noticed today
I forgot my own name
Where I’m from, why I came
But I know I can’t stay

I know that this place is my home
but I don’t want to die here alone
I know that it’s always my fault
It’s always my fault
Grab my hand and let’s run

I’ll stare at the ceiling for signs
The candlelight plays with my eyes
My chest slowly beating inside
This isn’t my time

I know that this place is my home
but I don’t want to die here alone
I know that it’s always my fault
It’s always my fault
Grab my hand and let’s run

I know that this place is my home
but I don’t want to die here alone
I know that it’s always my fault
It’s always my fault
Grab my hand and let’s run

I tried so hard to bring down these walls
But they collapsed and I can’t get out
Lost my will, I lost this fight
but it’s going to be alright, it’s going to be alright
it’s going to be alright, it’s going to be alright

I know that this place is my home
but I don’t want to die here alone
I know that it’s always my fault
It’s always my fault
Grab my hand and let’s run
I know that this place is my home
but I don’t want to die here alone
I know that it’s always my fault
It’s always my fault
It’s always my fault
